Back CD Cover

In comparison to the previous digipack that we had edited I mainly focused on the back cover this time, so I had put the image into photoshop and add small details like the barcode and the dolby digital.

Audience Feedback

We decided to show our music video to our classmates and asked for an audience feedback. It was excellent to hear what our fellow classmates had to say about our music video and to hear what strengths and weaknesses we have, this would allow us to improve our music video before the deadline.

Strengths:
  • ·      Editing was good
  • ·      Lip syncing was never out of point
  • ·      Different shot types and styles
  • ·      Strong Narrative, very conventional

Weaknesses:
  • ·      White balancing problems, one scene would be lighter than the other
  • ·      The representation of the girl could have been more conventional and stereotypical

Analysis Of Music Video - Do It Like You

Above is a rap video targeted to a young niche audience. This caught my attention because this artist was able to use a series of camera angles possibly showing that their uniques style of rap and also the person is able to convey quite openly charm and charisma to win over the girl. Our production is trying to portray that one character is trying to use his charm and charisma to get the girl.

In terms of our media production, it conforms to the postmodern genre as so does this video, this reason why is because of the artistic appeal it portrays, for example shooting the scene in a carnival and drawing attention to the bright lights, or music video is shot in the graffiti part of southbank and highlights the urban landscape. However it subverts from the entirety of code and conventions by the use of having a clear storyline as our media production and this music video tends to continually show. This therefore subverts from postmodernism because postmodernism does not generally follow the code and conventions of a narrative.
